Product Description: • PicoPrep orange-flavored sachets are used to remove bowel contents and cleanse it prior to the doctor's examination, surgery, or endoscopy. • It enables your doctor to see inside easily. • It is sometimes used to clear the colon before a special x-ray of the kidneys. It does this by acting in the intestine and colon, causing a watery stool or bowel motion that removes the bowel contents. • Your doctor, however, may prescribe PicoPrep for another purpose.
How to use?
Preparation of Solution: Slowly add the contents of one sachet of picoprep to a large glass of cold water (approximately 250ml). Stir gently. Picoprep should only be taken by adults and children over 9 years old. Do not take this medication without consulting your doctor or pharmacist. Follow all directions given to you by your doctor carefully. Preparation of two sachets (evening-before and day of the procedure): The first sachet is taken the night before the procedure, and the second is taken the next day in the morning prior to the procedure. The first reconstituted sachet should be followed by at least five 250ml drinks of clear liquids, spread over several hours. The second reconstituted sachet is taken in the morning (5-9 hours before the procedure), followed by at least three 250ml drinks of clear liquids, spread over several hours. Clear liquids may be consumed until 2 hours before the time of the procedure.
